Product Details
The MAGIC AC1 XIP Audio Codecs offer a LAN-, an ISDN S0 and an X.21 interface. The systems have two analogue audio inputs/outputs, which can also be used as a digital AES3 interface. In the standard version, the MAGIC AC1 XIP audio codec supports the G.711 (3.1-kHz), G.722 (7-kHz) and ISO/MPEG Layer 2 coding algorithms as well as the PCM transmission mode. Further coding algorithms such as ISO/MPEG Layer 3, Standard apt-X, Enhanced apt-X and AAC-LD can be activated optionally.
Versions
Two versions of the MAGIC AC1 XIP are available. The compact MAGIC AC1 XIP Audio Codec with external power supply is a powerful product for mobile applications, but can also be used as a space-saving solution in the studio. The 19" version MAGIC AC1 XIP RM has an integrated power supply, which in some cases is preferred for studio installations. In addition, the system can be equipped with a second LAN interface. In this way, audio transmission and control can be separated from each other. The functions are the same for both versions.
Both versions of the system are also available as pure decoders - in case a unidirectional transmission does not require a codec on the opposite side.
Options
Software Upgrade Kit
In the standard version, the MAGIC AC1 XIP audio codec supports the G.711 (3.1-kHz), G.722 (7-kHz) and ISO/MPEG Layer 2 encoding algorithms, as well as the PCM transmission mode. Further coding algorithms such as ISO/MPEG Layer 3, Standard apt-X, Enhanced apt-X and AAC-LD can be activated optionally.
The Software Upgrade Kit includes the AES/EBU Interface licence, the Mixer Tool Software Plug-In, which allows flexible mixing of all incoming and outgoing signals, and the ISDN Monitor Plug-In for detailed recording and analysis of your ISDN connection. Also included is SNMP protocol support to integrate the MAGIC AC1 XIP into a network management system, and the ISO/MPEG Layer 3 encoding algorithm.
Backup Upgrade
With the Backup Upgrade, an automatic ISDN Backup Function is optionally available. If the main IP connection between two MAGIC Codecs drops out during an Audio transmission, the systems switch automatically to the ISDN interface and the codec which has been selected as “Master” establishes an ISDN Backup connection with the parameters that have been configured in the software. Alternatively, if the backup is not supposed to be triggered by selected parameters of the IP connection, it can be started by an external TTL contact.
Redundant Power Supply
For the MAGIC AC1 XIP we offer a redundant power supply which is connected via an external box to the system.
LAN2 Adapter
To separate audio and control from each other, the MAGIC AC1 XIP RM can optionally be extended by a second LAN interface. For new devices the interface is directly integrated, for existing systems an external adapter can be plugged in.
MAGIC Keypad Basic
Allows remote operation of the AC1 XIP without a PC via the external keypad. Supports the most important functions of the audio codec and is connected via the RS232 interface.
Dual Mounting Kit
For the smaller MAGIC AC1 XIP systems (1/2 x 19") it is possible to install two devices side by side in a 19" rack with the Dual Mounting Kit. The brackets for the installation of only one device are always included in the scope of delivery.
Handset
An optional handset with XLR connector is available for monitoring.
