With the implementation of AES67, AVT significantly facilitates the integration of the systems into modern IP-based studio environments. The functionality is provided by a fee-based software update. No hardware adjustment is required. Customers can upgrade all existingsystems, which in some cases have been delivered since 2010, to the modern audio transmission standard. The only limitation is that AES67 cannot be used together with ISDN.
MAGIC TH1Go and MAGIC TH2plus provides four and MAGIC TH6 and MAGIC THipPro eight audio channels after the upgrade. Of course, the existing audio interfaces can still be used.
The big advantage of AES67, however, is that it is the lowest common denominator of several similar technologies and therefore guarantees communication between AES67-compatible Ravenna and Dante devices, to name just a few. The implementation has already been tested with DANTE, LAWO and MERGING AES67-enabled systems.
The DANTE module already exists with the VoIP hybrids MAGIC THipPro and MAGIC AE4 DAB/DAB+ Encoder, with this 32 additional audio channels are available.
